Aamir and Hameeda Interior Designers (AANDH) is a Hyderabad-based studio known for its chic, urban, and eclectic interiors across homes, retail, hospitality, and corporate spaces. Blending minimalism with bold accents, recycled materials, and global influences, AANDH delivers contemporary, timeless designs that celebrate individuality, creativity, and refined craftsmanship.
Designed with a profound respect for its natural surroundings, this Hyderabad residence stands as a thoughtful exploration of sustainable, adaptive architecture. Spread across a gently contoured 700 sq. yd. rocky site, the 6,000 sq. ft. home emerges from the landscape rather than imposing upon it. Existing trees were preserved as anchors, shaping the building’s footprint and resulting in a layout where built and unbuilt spaces flow as one continuous ecosystem.
The use of excavated stone is central to the house’s identity. Crafted into CRS walls, retaining edges, and sculptural staircases, the stone forms a tactile, grounding backdrop that celebrates the site’s geology. These elements lend the home a sense of permanence while reducing material waste, aligning beauty with environmental responsibility.
The architectural language further emphasizes fluidity between indoors and outdoors. Large louvered wooden windows modulate daylight, enhance cross-ventilation, and offer controlled privacy, transforming spaces through shifting light patterns. The roof, inspired by Kerala’s vernacular forms, unfolds in dramatic sloping planes. Beyond its visual poetry, this design provides deep shade and creates microclimates that respond intelligently to Hyderabad’s sun and heat.
On the upper level, two guest bedrooms sit serenely, connected by a lobby that visually and spatially links the courtyards below. From this point, a single-cast RCC spiral staircase rises like a sculptural spine, guiding one to the master bedroom. Its fluid form introduces a sense of movement and artistry, becoming one of the home’s most defining gestures.
Within the interiors, a minimalist palette of concrete, stone, and wood is softened through warm, strategic lighting. Thoughtfully curated elements—such as animal-inspired sculptures, textured accessories, and a bold Art Deco couch—bring charm, whimsy, and contemporary flair to the otherwise understated environment.
The home prioritizes meaningful experiences over conventional luxury. Instead of ornamental excess, it embraces silence, shadow, breeze, and the companionship of trees. Each space is designed to cultivate mindfulness and foster a deeper relationship with the landscape.
Ultimately, this residence is not just a place to live—it is a sanctuary shaped by terrain, climate, and emotion. With its seamless integration of built form and nature, it stands as a timeless model of sensitive, soulful, and sustainable architecture.
