Led by Chief Design Officer Andrea Andreotti, Ultraconfidentiel is a global design firm redefining commercial environments through storytelling, innovation, and personalization. With studios in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, the firm crafts immersive, future-ready spaces that merge cultural context with sustainability, transforming workplaces and retail experiences into dynamic brand destinations.
Ultraconfidentiel was commissioned to design the new headquarters for Scorpio Marine Management, a Monaco-based global leader in the maritime industry. Located in Powai, Mumbai, this expansive 95,000-square-foot office spans two floors and embodies the company’s deep-rooted connection to the sea through a refined, contextually rich design approach that balances functionality, brand narrative, and user wellbeing.
The design draws inspiration from the language of ships and the maritime environment, translating nautical references into sophisticated architectural expressions. Light fixtures take cues from ship funnels, while acoustic wall panels feature laser-embossed patterns reminiscent of shipbuilding frameworks. A carefully curated color palette echoes the ever-changing tones of the ocean — from deep blues to shimmering aquamarines and muted sandy neutrals. These subtle maritime references weave a cohesive narrative throughout the space, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and evocative without resorting to overt symbolism.
A strong emphasis on wellbeing and collaboration drives the spatial planning. The layout encourages openness, movement, and visual connectivity, ensuring every corner receives abundant natural light. Multiple collaboration islands and informal breakout zones punctuate the workspace, offering employees opportunities for spontaneous interactions and creative discussions. Coffee bars placed strategically across the floors promote casual engagement, blurring the boundaries between work and relaxation. Complementing this, a fully equipped gymnasium provides a dedicated space for fitness and mindfulness, reinforcing the company’s commitment to holistic wellness.
The interiors celebrate the brand’s global identity while maintaining a distinctly Indian sensibility through craftsmanship and materiality. Rich textures, nautical-inspired details, and refined finishes bring together sophistication and warmth. From private cabins and open workstations to social and recreational zones, each area flows seamlessly into the next, mirroring the natural rhythm of waves and tides.
Ultimately, the headquarters is envisioned as a fluid, future-forward workplace — one that resonates with Scorpio Marine Management’s pioneering spirit and global outlook. It stands as a testament to design that moves beyond aesthetics, creating an immersive environment where form, function, and identity converge. Rooted in the movement of the sea and the energy of collaboration, this workspace redefines what it means to work, connect, and belong.
