About studioHPA

Ar. Hiren Patel, one of India’s most respected architects, began his journey in design after graduating from CEPT University in 1983. In 1989, he founded HPAdesign, driven by a deep-rooted passion for art and architecture, and further enriched by his studies in landscape design. From the outset, Patel’s work has been shaped by his belief that architecture is more than building, it’s a transformative force that can uplift lives and communities.

HPAdesign is a reflection of Hiren Patel’s philosophy, a design practice where creativity, nature, and purpose intersect. With over three decades of experience, the firm has evolved into a multidisciplinary studio specializing in architecture, interiors, and landscape design. At its heart, HPAdesign is committed to pushing boundaries, crafting spaces that nurture a deep connection between people and their environment.

The studio’s approach is holistic, where each project tells a story and carries forward a legacy of mindful, sustainable design. From private residences to large-scale developments, their work is characterized by timeless elegance, cultural sensitivity, and a deep reverence for nature. Sustainability forms the backbone of their practice, not just in materials, but in building communities and enhancing well-being.

HPAdesign continues to shape India’s design narrative by creating spaces that are both emotionally resonant and environmentally responsive—architecture that doesn’t just stand, but speaks.

Expose Concrete House

Design Team: Anushree Patel, Palak Vasant & Kajal Suthar

Site Area: 14800 sq ft

Completion of Project: March 2023

Rooted in earthy textures and quiet elegance, this residence blurs the boundary between built form and the natural world. Its weathered brick and raw concrete exterior rises with a grounded confidence, aging with grace and blending seamlessly into its surroundings. Inside, a sense of calm pervades—uncluttered spaces, softened light, and minimal ornamentation create a canvas for memories to unfold gently over time. This is a home that speaks through its silences, where every wall holds stories and every shadow invites reflection.

Design Highlights:
• Exposed brick and concrete façade with a timeless, grounded presence
• Minimal interiors that embrace openness and allow life to take center stage
• Kitchen tucked away to preserve intimacy and ritual
• A symbolic bridge connecting rooms and people alike
• Rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi offering a private escape into the landscape
• Architecture that harmonizes with nature, inviting connection and calm

Summary
This home is a soulful departure from fleeting trends—crafted not just to live in, but to grow with. With its raw material honesty and thoughtful layout, it offers more than shelter: it becomes a keeper of stories, a binder of relationships, and a serene retreat from the pace of modern life. A rare kind of home that doesn’t shout for attention but quietly holds space—for nature, for family, for timeless living.
