Designed as a net-zero-enabled campus, the Infosys development in Nagpur’s Special Economic Zone near MIHAN Commercial Hub sets a pioneering precedent in sustainable corporate architecture. Spanning 33 acres in Phase 1, the campus is built to house over 2,000 employees and is primed for future expansion. At the heart of the masterplan lies an X-shaped building, each 100-metre wing tilted precisely at 22.5 degrees to the Tropic of Cancer to optimise solar orientation. This strategic layout ensures that 90% of the workspaces are bathed in daylight from both sides. The structure integrates vertical fins, radiant cooling slabs, and a host of passive techniques to achieve a 52% lower Energy Performance Index (EPI) than standard GRIHA benchmarks. Designed with a deep respect for local identity, the building showcases symbolic illustrations of Nagpur’s heritage through 30-metre RCC walls that double as cultural canvases—bringing together functionality, sustainability, and regional artistry under one bold vision.
