The House of Dancing Screens is envisioned as a residence that celebrates movement, light, and flexibility—an architectural narrative where form and function waltz together. At its heart are the pivotal screens, which transform spaces with graceful fluidity, allowing for openness and privacy to coexist in harmony. These dynamic elements define the home’s rhythm, constantly reshaping how light and shadow animate its interiors throughout the day.
The design draws inspiration from the poetic motion of screens swaying in the wind, translating this sense of rhythm into architectural expression. Fluidity extends through the sweeping staircase, the seamless transitions between levels, and the visual continuity that binds the entire house. Conceived as an open floor plan, the home prioritizes interconnectedness while respecting the individuality of its occupants. Each level is anchored by a family lounge—a central hub that nurtures togetherness—while private bedrooms radiate outward, each enjoying the serenity of a personal balcony.
The triple-height atrium floods the home with natural light, enhancing its sense of openness and grandeur. This vertical void creates an ever-changing spatial experience, connecting all three floors visually and emotionally. The sculptural staircase, elegantly tying the levels together, becomes a statement piece—an embodiment of movement and continuity. The rooftop extends the home’s spatial narrative, featuring a pool, terrace garden, and open seating area that encourage leisure and reflection.
Materiality and color play vital roles in shaping the atmosphere. Warm tones, tactile finishes, and vibrant accents lend character to each space, while natural light enhances texture and mood.
