A vibrant sanctuary for a young, dynamic couple, this 4,000-sqft apartment in Mumbai by P S Design balances crisp, contemporary interiors with bold dashes of colour, artisanal details and moments of dramatic flair. Designed to suit the multifaceted lives of its owners, the home is a retreat, a chic party pad and a functional home office, that reflects a deep sensitivity to lifestyle and individuality.
Minimalism meets artisanal luxury
The clients envisioned a modern, clutter-free home imbued with a sophisticated yet artisanal aesthetic – an aspiration the designers brought to life with finesse. The apartment unfolds as a cohesive narrative across rooms, using a light, elegant touch that elevates the interiors without overwhelming them. Bespoke wallpapers, striking artworks and curated furniture pieces lend personality throughout, while a neutral shell of white walls and ash oak wood provides the perfect canvas for playful splashes of colour, texture and form.
A tropical experience at the entrance
The lift lobby comes alive with a tropical wallpaper by Kalakaari Haath, setting a laid-back, cool tone. A chic woven cane bench and chair bring in a handcrafted charm, complemented by potted greens that infuse life into the space. The front door and surrounding walls are clad in ash oak veneer introducing a warm continuity that runs through the home.
A living room designed for conversation
The expansive living room is anchored by a forest green L-shaped sofa that invites lounging and conversation. A mix of bespoke rugs, vibrant artworks and ash oak detailing on the ceiling adds depth and texture.
A multi-purpose TV wall integrates open shelves and closed storage, clad in the same white wallpaper as the walls, ensuring visual continuity.
Art, Glamour, and Bespoke Design Details
A standout feature of the apartment is the wall-mounted bar cabinet, designed in collaboration with Rooshad Shroff. Embellished with his signature thread work, the cabinet reads like a piece of art when closed, its colours subtly echoing those found in the upholstery and rug. Upon opening, it reveals a bold, lacquered turquoise blue interior—turning functionality into a stunning focal point. Just across, the dining area reflects equal attention to visual drama. An avocado green dining table is paired with rust-toned chairs, creating a vibrant contrast against the monochrome Pierre Frey wallpaper. Sculptural sconces by Kelly Wearstler and Visual Comfort complete the setting with a dash of international glamour.
Comfort-Driven Luxury in the Private Quarters
The master suite doubles as a serene retreat and a functional workspace. Two custom desks with concealed wiring offer elegant work-from-home setups, complemented by a rust-hued sofa and a sage green ceiling that infuse character. A geometric rug from Morocco personalises the room, while a softly curved ceiling and tone-on-tone Pierre Frey wallpaper extend into the walk-in closet and sleeping area, promoting calm and continuity. The ensuite bath introduces a more dramatic flair with bold black-and-white veined marble behind the vanity and classic subway tiles in the shower. The guest bedroom tells a nostalgic story with green silk wallpaper, cement flooring, and a graphic black-and-white headboard.

From the whimsical bar to the soulful bedrooms and chic kitchen with its chequered floors and blue cabinetry, this home is a celebration of individuality. P S Design has artfully woven bold statements and subtle comforts into every corner—creating a lived-in sanctuary that feels youthful, expressive, and completely one-of-a-kind.
